Ubuntu 9.10 looks awesome and works really well. Congrats to everyone who made it happen. In particular the DX team who did some great work with the new theme, icons and an even cooler version of notify-osd. It is by a mile the best Ubuntu version yet. Great job guys and gals, I cant wait for the lucid UDS where we can talk about improving on such a great release. So if you dont have it go get Ubuntu or Kubuntu or Xubuntu or Ubuntu Studio

ubuntu one in karmic by default?

I did a fresh install of ubuntu two days ago because I was having issues with network manager in karmic. I reinstalled from jaunty and then upgraded to karmic. I didn’t install ubuntu one but I have an account and this confused me for a second but then I realised it must have been installed by default.
Personally I find it a little strange because its still in beta and with the amount of ubuntu users I thought it would be karmic+1 before we saw any ubuntu cloud services included in by default. Im glad I was wrong because its a very nice service and makes transferring of files between ubuntu machines very easy.

Karmic Koala getting rid of the brown!!!

Ubuntu 9.10 has been announced and I was quite pleased to read that they are on the hunt for a new look that isn’t brown. With the new cool notifications in 9.04 and the new look to 9.10 will add a new “wow factor” to Ubuntu in my opinion.
