look great, thanks man… the only thing I noticed is that I don’t have an Activities button on my panel, nor a + sign at the bottom right.

The instructions are all on http://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell its very easy to do. No real tips for you just have fun and report any bugs you find.

Thanks Shane, I will try to do the same. I have never done that, but your desktop looks nice and it sounds like it would be a fun project to do… I just googled jhbuild and I think I could probably pull it off. Any tips for me?

I’m not really fond of gnome-shell, but it WOULD look much slicker if it looked like that when you opened the activities section…

Well I compile it from source using jhbuild so I just presumed it was the same way to replace gnome panel.

looks nice, I was trying to do the same, but I get:

Usage: gnome-shell [options]

after running the 3rd command listed above… any ideas?

The netbook launcher dissappears when the overview is open.
