I was reading http://news.cnet.com/8301-13846_3-10346669-62.html
Its really funny believe me. I think Microsoft believe that they invented the PC.
Like really who are Microsoft to
A. define what consumers define a PC as
B. judge linux

FUD angers me. Down right lies anger me more.
A month ago I thought that Microsoft’s strategy was beginning to change but they have gone back to their old tune of complete BS.

It’s their loss, as I was considering becoming a windows 7 user, but I’ll be leaving windows for good in favor of Linux.

What puzzles me is that Microsoft pours so much talent in such destructive efforts just to keep their share of the market? when in fact its already majority of the market.

How about just work for world peace? or stop global warming? and just let the people working on Linux do their thing? if people choose to move from windows to linux then its market thing.

Then again, microsoft will not have much revenue if they keep loosing grounds but is wanting to save your skin or pay your bills warrant FUD?

I agree with all of what you are saying. Me personally I believe Microsoft is a software company so they should make software. If their product is bad people wont use it. If they spent half as much time writing intelligent ,great software then they wouldnt have to worry so much about the opposition.
Apple is a prime example of letting the product do the talking. At the expo each year its all about apple not about microsoft or anyone else just apple.

I think a lot of this falling back on the old tactics has to do with MS feeling a little desperate. Their latest SEC filing wasn’t exactly glowing, and they’re just coming off two losing quarters in a row. If I had to guess, I’d say that Ballmer is starting feel a little heat and therefore the company and their mouthpieces are returning to their original instinctive confronational behavior of snarky comments and plain old badmouthing. Things are not so good in Redmond at the moment, and the man who was supposed to fill Gates’ shoes doesn’t seem to be living up to the boards expectations, so his natural inclination is to pull out all the stops and return to his true personality, which is that of a flat out bully, and it is now tuly beginning to re-manifest itself. The guy has never been accused of being a genius, and definitely didn’t get where he is now based on brains and smart business practices. If it weren’t for Bill he’d probably working at a car dealership. He’s basically a loser and honestly doesn’t know what else to do.

Which is quite entertaining to be honest. Savvy tech managers already know what Linux can offer, and that it is a better choice when done right. Desktop users already use Windows (because it was shipped with their PC) or bought a Mac, so Microsoft is aiming at the wrong target.
