I found out that heanet who mirror Ubuntu in ireland offer a max speed of 20gbs (Giga-bytes a second).
For a country of 4 million people that is a lot of bandwidth to go around . Heanet is Ireland’s national education and research network and they offer a great service to the FLOSS community by mirroring Ubuntu and they do it for free. So thanks for the great service.
Edit: They recently upgraded to a 20gbs. I was going by https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+mirror/ie.releases.ubuntu.com-release .
It was recently upgraded I believe, now at 20Gbs via 2*10Gbs links.
