The deskbar applet in Gnome desktop

The deskbar applet is like a quick search feature in gnome. There are plugins now for google and yahoo search, for twitter and identi.ca, for opening up files and folders, even shutting down the computer. All of this is located on the top panel of the desktop.

I like to twitter and after finding the functionally for twitter in the deskbar I just said wow they really put a lot of effort into making this feature unique. Its a great feature and is a real time saver in my opinion.

To activate twitter on the deskbar just right click on it and select preferences then select twitter from the list. Then posting is as simple as typing what you want to say and selecting twitter from the list that appears below the deskbar.
